Butterflies

Butterflies

By May Kwek

Colours as bright as dawn’s glow
Moving lightly with the wind’s flow
Gracefully gliding, flying high
Over the trees and into the sky

As quiet as the deafening night
Never showing a morsel of pride
Although it’s nature’s canvas on painted wings
Whose beauty rivals those of kings!

So small and yet indispensable
In the circle of life
For the flowers need them
To carry their pollen with flight

And perhaps you will see one today
Or maybe two or three
With its ballerina dance
It simply can’t be missed!

So watch it as it gently flies
Colours as bright as the morning sky!
Watch it as it quietly glides
Nature’s radiance ever so bright
