Where it ever rains
Where the air is cool
And the moon wanes
Oh December!
The old man of the year
Age withered
On the shaggy beard
Oh December!
When sorrow and grief
Joy and happiness
Mingle as they please
Oh December!
The time is past
The month so long
And yet didn’t last
Oh December!
The end of the year
Always so far
And yet so near!
