Homework
Homework homework
A daily menace
The sad result
Of all my lessons
They sit in a pile
Waiting to be done
At the same time depriving me
Of all my fun
Without voices they scream
Demanding to be completed
Without arms they grab me
In a conscience prison
Procrastination tempts me
While duty reminds me
Of my teacher’s warning
Just that very morning
So eventually a side prevails
And the homework must be done
Otherwise I shall be unprotected
From my teacher’s wordy lunge
But that was when I was younger
And afraid of my teacher’s wrath
Now the fact that I still do well
Must tear them in halves!
