Silence

Silence

By May Kwek

Silence, the quiet, the peaceful, the still
Quietly watching and watching until
The time comes for it to act
Silence is what so many things lack

There is silence in the night
And silence in the day
There’s silence in the bird’s flight
Come what may

There is silence in the stream
Rippling through it may seem
But it causes silence in the soul
A quiet, peaceful, contented glow

There’s silence in the sky
And a kind of blessed peace
Silence in beauty
From the greatest to the least

Silence in the air
Even in a bird’s call
There is silence in everything
The great and the small

Silence isn't cold
Isn't lonely either
It is something magical
That no man can measure

It is a time
A place, a where
A moment to savor
What the world shares
